Hi, I am Jonathan.
I am an 26 years old architecture student living and studying in Vienna. I would describe myself as curious, empathetic, and determined. My enthusiasm for design is not limited to architecture alone. I believe in the power of storytelling and innovation.
2019 - 2024
Bachelor in Architecture
in Darmstadt, Germany
I began my architecture studies at Hochschule Darmstadt in October 2019, with a strong focus on design-related subjects from the very beginning. I love engaging with problems of a structural, social, or societal nature and attempting to solve them through architectural design. My previous experience in independently handling complex projects has been a great advantage. Since working as a tutor in this field, I’ve also had the opportunity to support my fellow students.
2021
Internship Atelier Markgraph
Atelier Markgraph creates “digital and analog, permanent and temporary experiences and moments for corporate and cultural contexts.” I was fascinated by the thematic range and the diversity of projects. During my six-month full-time internship at the studio, I had the opportunity to actively contribute to five competitions for renowned companies. In addition to the competitions, I was particularly shaped by my involvement in the sustainability track of the Mercedes-Benz IAA trade fair stand and the development of the exhibition Revenge at the Jewish Museum Frankfurt.
2021-23
Initiative arsgroup
The arsgroup is a student-led initiative at Hochschule Darmstadt. In a small team, we voluntarily organize various events within the Department of Architecture. The main focus is the arsgroup lecture series, where we invite inspiring studios from the fields of architecture, interior design, art, scenography, and design. From the winter semester 2021/22 to winter semester 2022/23, I was responsible for communicating with external offices and supporting the guest speakers.
2022
Working student at Stengele+cie.
Stengele+cie is a small architectural office based in Frankfurt. During my time with the company, I was responsible for designing two new buildings in the Main-Taunus district. On an approximately 800 m² hillside site, 3–4 residential units were planned. The extremely complex context, along with regulations regarding fire department access, ground coverage ratio, curb lowering, and many other aspects, provided me with a clear insight into the realities of construction.
2023
Working student at Schmidt Plöcker Architekten
I was part of the competition team and contributed to a variety of projects. Ranging from a small kindergarten to a large office building in the heart of Frankfurt.
2024
Masters at TU Wien-Vienna, Austria
In my master’s studies, I am focusing on forward-looking and innovative topics within architecture and beyond. My main areas of interest are sustainable building in the existing structures and the application of artificial intelligence in architectural contexts.
